Kotirudra, in brief it is a rare yaga performed purely for Lokakalyana. It is performed when the world is in a danger owing to the moral crises in leadership and fall of values. Propitiation of Shri Rudra is the effective means of requiting the colossal disorder, disquiet, confusion and violence that pervade human society today. When great rulers themselves are deluded and the nation faces disintegration and anarchy, the only saving grace is the invocation of the protective power of Rudra. The moving spirit and inspiration for this great religious event, spread over eleven days with offerings through one hundred and twenty one Homa kundas, is Shree BinduMdhava Swamiji, an Avadhutha in a line of great seers.
